ABOUT CONNIE.
MEET CONNIE DODSON
Experienced Leadership. Proven Results. Focused on Student Outcomes.

Connie Dodson has dedicated her life to serving the East Tulsa community as a mother, business owner, and District 6 City Councilor for eight years. Now, she's ready to bring that same problem-solving leadership to the Tulsa Public Schools Board of Education, District 4.

Service to East Tulsa & Public Education
Connie has lived in East Tulsa for over 30 years. She and her husband raised five children, all of whom attended Tulsa Public Schools in District 4. With four grandchildren and one more soon to enter TPS, Connie's commitment to quality public education isn't political. It's deeply personal.
For eight years, Connie served as District 6 City Councilor, representing the same neighborhoods that comprise TPS District 4. She built a reputation as a pragmatic problem-solver who worked across party lines to deliver results. She secured funding for critical infrastructure. She championed community development projects like the Community Health Connections clinic and McCullough Park improvements. She brought new investment to neighborhoods that had been overlooked for decades.
Beyond City Council, Connie has been deeply involved in public education. She previously served on the bond development committee for Tulsa Public Schools. She has been a member of both the Oklahoma Education Association and the Parent & Teacher Association (PTA). As a local business owner, veteran advocate, and active community leader through organizations like Leadership Tulsa and Tulsa Area United Way, Connie knows how to listen, build coalitions, and get things done.

A Track Record of Getting Things Done
In 2014, after watching East Tulsa be overlooked for over a decade, Connie made a commitment to face issues head-on. She ran for District 6 City Councilor and won. Over eight years, she proved herself as an accomplished leader who turned promises into progress.

During her tenure on the Tulsa City Council, Connie fought for and brought resources that transformed her community:
-
Secured funding for critical infrastructure, including the new fire station on 41st Street, increased firefighter staffing to meet national safety standards, and new police and fire vehicles to keep the community safe
-
Championed community development, bringing the Community Health Connections clinic to East Tulsa, developing the improved McCullough Park with the first water feature east of Memorial, and advocating for new asphalt and street improvements through the "Improve Our Tulsa" bond package
-
Worked tirelessly with developers to bring new residential and commercial growth to neighborhoods that had been ignored, proving that East Tulsa deserves investment and attention
-
Built a reputation as a voice of reason who represents diverse neighborhoods, listens to constituents, and focuses on solutions rather than division

Connie is running for TPS Board of Education District 4 because she's seen what happens when political grandstanding replaces problem-solving. The current incumbent has turned the school board into a platform for culture war politics. Families are exhausted. Teachers are frustrated. Students deserve better.

Connie is committed to fighting for each and every TPS student, family, and teacher. We want to hear from you. What do you hope to see from Tulsa Public Schools, and how can you help support Connie’s campaign for District 4?
